This is the first in a series of BiG member meetings we have planned for of 2017, and at this meeting we have two guest speakers who will be discussing their experiences of licensing artwork for use with products and also how illustrators can work with publishers.

Our two guest speakers are:

Helz Cuppleditch
Helz is an illustrator based in Sussex and works with UK and US agents to license her work for a range of products including greeting cards, repeat patterns for paper and fabric printing and paper products such as bags and stationery. Helz will be giving a talk about everything to do with licensing artwork including contracts and royalties, working with different types of products, spotting and following popular trends and also how to make your illustrations adaptable for licensing.

Tony De Saulles
Tony is an illustrator and author, also based in Sussex and is probably best known for his illustrations featured in the ‘Horrible Science’ series of children’s educational books. Tony will be talking about his experiences of working with publishers in terms of illustrating other author’s material as well as developing his own illustrated books.

This is a great opportunity to hear about how other illustrators have made a success of developing and adapting their artwork for publishing and licensing purposes, and will hopefully give you some ideas about how this can be applied to your own work.

Also, as with all BiG meetings, it’s a great opportunity to catch-up with fellow members and hear about what everyone’s been up to.

See you there!
