BIG Pub Quiz - the Aftermath!

Last month's meeting saw a welcome return to the BIG Pub Quiz and also a return to the Caxton Arms (where we used to regularly meet).

Hosted by Quiz Master Harry Venning (he of Clare in the Cimmunity cartoon and comedy writing fame and a resident of The Annexe) with aplomb and good humour. Themes of each round varied from advertising slogans, literary quotes, sitcoms to tattoos (yes, really a whole round). Plus there was a testing visual round with snippets of film posters to identify. And there were even jokers to be played…oooh!

Five teams fought for the coveted BIG Quiz title and the Let's Get Quizzicals lead from the first to the last round, pipping the Three Sheets to the Wind by two points (not that I'm bitter). It was a very jolly evening and the goody bags awarded to all teams were much appreciated (probably due to the amount of cheap sweets they contained). There were also gold, silver and bronze handmade chocolate medals on ribbon - yum!

The winning team were awarded an egg cup trophy and the team who came last; Trés Amigos et Uno were kept busy scribbling on the saucey Cock-A-Doodle-Do pad (yes, it is exactly what it sounds like).

Thanks to all who attended and made the evening go swingingly. And to Mr Harry Venning for quizzing us, to Nina and Jo for gathering the goodies and arranging the venue and a special thanks to new committee member Steph Lidbetter for her top choccie medals. See you all next time.
