Our meeting this evening concerns the use of social media for illustrators.
Do you use some form of social media every day, dabble now and again, avoid it altogether?
Our speaker Ross Breadmore will guide us through the maze. An overview of methods, approaches and examples of how to promote your work and yourself using social media. Ross will also be looking more broadly at the relationship between digital and illustration and highlight ways to utilise technology in all areas of your work.
Ross originally studied illustration at Falmouth and retains a creative approach to digital consultancy. He is now a consultant at NixonMcInnes. Clients include Barclaycard, Nectar, Chelsea Football Club, Oxfam and The World Wildlife Fund. Having worked with large corporates for five years he enjoys the challenge of building relationships between individuals and the large, often dysfunctional entities that serve them.
He is passionate that technology has a lot to offer the creative world, both as a communications toolbox and a creative weapon.
We also welcome illustrator Sarah McIntyre who will speak on her avid use of blogging and all things social media.
Sarah is an illustrator of picture books and comics, she updates her blog on LiveJournal nearly every day with drawings and event photos, and you can follower her on twitter.com/#!/jabberworks
